Whiteparish Ride 21st November
Whiteparish Ride 21st November
The next ride is from Whiteparish at w3w///milder.haggling.topic SU 246 235
Note that the Surgery car park is in fact the Memorial Centre car park used by teams and visitors to the extensive playing fields and also by people attending the local church services so please bear this in mind when parking up. Parking is also generally available a few hundred metres away on the A27 opposite the Parish Lantern pub.
Usual protocols apply.
If you have tested positive or are exhibiting symptoms of Covid, or feel unwell, you must not attend the ride.
Following the advice of our affiliated cycling organisation, whilst numbers attending a ride may be unlimited, individual ride groups will be limited to 15. In practice this should not be a problem for us.
PLEASE POST IF YOU ARE COMING and indicate if you are a non-member. Would potential ride leaders also post so we have you in the overall number.
AND
You are advised to wear face masks/coverings in crowded settings and be mindful that coronavirus is still endemic in the population, that the possibility of transmission still exists and that the virus can be contracted regardless of vaccination status. To this end we would ask that you continue to adhere to our amended guidelines to ensure we stay Covid safe:
Note club rides are available for people who self-regulate, ride leaders will not be policing the following but if you consistently breach them you may be asked to leave the ride. They are there for your safety and the safety of others.
• 2m spacing at all times during rides, extending to 4m if riding in front or behind someone.
• Each rider must carry a spare tube in case of a puncture or suitable kit if riding tubeless.
• Each rider must have disposable gloves and a face covering in case of having to attend to falls. Carrying hand sanitiser is also strongly recommended.
• Follow the ride leaders directions in case of a puncture/fall to ensure the minimum number of people are involved.
Thanks and have a great ride

Re: Whiteparish Ride 21st November
I will lead the fast group.
In the past we have parked in the Doctor's Surgey, but it is private and they don't like it. It would be best to park on the road. There are no restrictions on the road so park anywhere there is a space. Meet infront of the Church.

Re: Whiteparish Ride 21st November
I can lead a sprightly medium paced group on a route provided by the local legend (Paul Croll, aka 'Funny Paul').
I believe Sue will join me and will be able to peel off with a splinter group if it proves necessary.
Pen x

I will be there

Re: Whiteparish Ride 21st November
I'll also have the route and can act as backup for Pen or do a slightly shorter route. There are a couple of places to cut off a mile or two....
Looks like a good route...

Re: Whiteparish Ride 21st November
Hi
I have had a look at the forecast and the temperatures are looking to be substantially sub-10 so I will not risk 3 hours of misery with Reynauds Syndrome turning my fingers to useless twigs of white pain. Sorry to miss it because it is good riding territory.
Roger.
