Sunday Ride 19th Feb Four Marks

Post by pedallingphil » Thu Feb 23, 2023 4:55 pm

I do not get out with the group as much as I used to and increasingly finding I am hanging off the back on hills. No amount of practice is going to overcome being very much the wrong side of 70, and I was wondering how much longer I could successfully continue with this group.
I was very pleased to be given the option, at around about half way round, to take a slightly easier and more direct way home, probably about 5 miles shorter overall. Four of us took this option when the group split and full marks to Sue for leading it.
Just thought I would mention it as there may be others in my position who will be encouraged to come along if they know this option is going to be there.

We are hoping to offer some more relaxed slower rides but need leaders. Please get in touch with me if you would like to lead a slower group

I agree with Phil, it was nice being able to peel off and do a slightly easier medium route with Sue at Four Marks as I was hanging back on the hills too. I appreciate that this option of “more leisurely” medium rides needs more leaders. I can submit a 17-19 mile medium leisurely route to lead to Roger and Michael once I have got rid of this heavy cold and have had chance to recce it.
