Grayshott medium ride (no fast group ride)

Full day ride at a social pace with a prompt 10am start from the car park. Hardtail leader but E-bikes welcome to open gates on ascents and scare the walkers out the way. Around 42km or so with just under 1000m of ascent.
Riding conditions are great, ascents are easy and pretty much non-technical, descents and views are glorious. Highlights include the most civilised bridleway gate I've ever opened! We have all day to potter round so no rush on the hills. For your comfort and as a blatant incentive I have planned a diversion to Ramster Tea Rooms.
I've checked and they are open. We can have lunch on the trail and a bonus cuppa and cake to fuel us up for the return journey. The tearoom also does toasted sandwiches if you prefer but I'm a cheap skate so will bring some nammet.
Bring plenty of water for the day, a full packed lunch and lots of snacks (in addition to the tea room treat). Early morning we will pass by the National Trust cafe and toilets with an outside tap, additionally there is a tap outside the church at Greyswood. Also bring what you need for punctures and mechanicals. It's a long walk back to Grayshott!
Route
Hindhead Common & Devils Punchbowl meander around, south east to Grayswood then through Frillinghurst Wood and minor roads to the tea room (did I mention a tea room!) and short section of road to get back on the trail. Looping back over Black Down - Temple of the Winds (on a clear day you can see China), across Marley Common and a bit of the Serpent Trail and back to the start.
Pre ridden at least once so you don't have to try and push your bike up the world’s steepest sunken lane/s.
