HAPPY NEW YEAR!
2023 has been another great year for Newforce.
We have enjoyed riding in some great areas with our Sunday morning rides based in the New Forest and around South Hampshire.
Our slightly further away day rides have also provided some great and at times more challenging riding with breathtaking downland and sea views - we really are lucky with where we can ride in Hampshire and in the adjoining counties. This year our day rides included Standsted (east of Portsmouth) Isle of Wight and Purbecks from Corfe Castle.
Special events have included the Chilterns Weekend away organised by Eleanor where we enjoyed exploring a new area to ride, with the highlight for many (as well as the riding) being sitting in the evening sun with a drink and chatting away to each other.
The BBQ ride organised by Pen, great food was provided by the Ship Inn Owslebury, and again a great social event.
For the coming year, we have the usual two groups every other Sunday and the Thursday night rides, the club trip away is back the the Welsh Mountains staying at the Afan Lodge and riding the Afan trail centre and I'm sure there will be another BBQ ride!
Does anyone have any other ideas of events we can do?
It would be great to see a few more members out on the rides - a New Year resolution maybe!?
We could also do with a few more ride leaders......
